Uk duo Fine Print’s debut self-titled EP is out today. The pair, who mix up elements of jazz, soul and electronics have already found favour with previous singles taken from the EP, ‘About You, ‘Can’t Lie’, and ‘Tell Me’. That leaves only Really that’s new, and you can listen to that now.
More upbeat than its predecessors, ‘Really’ bubbles right from the off, this stripped back house like drum pattern adorned with similarly minimal synths. As it unfurls though, so layers of electronics and more synths come in, lying somewhere between the white soul of Tears for Fears and the uptown funk of Prince. Throw in the sort of tune that smacks of chart success, and lyrics “for those days when you look in the mirror and have a stern word with yourself”, and Fine Print are on to something.
The Fine Print EP will be available digitally and as a limited edition white 10” vinyl right now through B3SCI Records.
