Italian producer Dario D’Attis has already had some success, releasing records through labels such as Hive Audio, Nervous Records and SSOH, but his new EP ‘This Piano, That Chord’ Is set to surpass those, as when it comes out (September 15th) it appears on the most iconic of house labels, Strictly Rhythm.
The EP features the two tracks named in the title, and opens with (not suprisingly) This Piano. It’s raw and (again, unsurprisingly) piano infected house music, that rattles away, with the piano chords sat a way away in the mix, more a shadow in the track. It ebbs and flows, full of echoey cut up vocals and the pulsating beats dropping out and back in again and it pulls you onto the dance floor.
That Chord follows a similar vein, but it’s these woody sounding stabbed chords that underpin everything, as things move and shake over the top. It’s classic, stripped away house music, all pads and fizzes and long crescendos.
Bring it on.
