Track: Charles Bradley – Change for the World

Since when was an album by a 67 year old viewed as one of the most anticipated albums of the year? Well, it transpires since Brooklyn soul singer Charles Bradley announced his new record, Changes, out on April 1st via Dunham / Daptone records.

Before being discovered, Bradley had led a hard, unremitting life struggling to survive taking menial jobs. All that changed in 2011 with the release of ‘No time for dreaming’ which was released to almost universal praise.

Following on from the release of Changes, Bradleys cover of the Black Sabbath ballad comes another glimpse of the album in the shape of Change for the World. It’s horn-heavy classic psych soul, Bradleys gruff delivery full of soul as he rasps it out, sweetened by the backing vocals. This is real life. Get on it.
