Leeds punks Brawlers make a return with a new release, The Black EP out on July 1st, a follow up to last years much admired debut album Romantic Errors of our Youth. Decamped into a studio for a few weeks with producer Thomas Mitchener, the band have poured out their thoughts and ideas into five songs, no better illustrated than on first single Day Job.
It’s face-melting, adrenaline packed pop-punk, with razor sharp guitar lines and thundering drums, but what elevates it into the cream of the crop territory is the melodies, the singalong chorus’, and this most unlikely of breathers where it screeches almost to a halt before one final assault on your senses. Over the top, the band bemoan the fact that their day job gets in the way of more important things like drink, drugs, women and rock and roll. Obviously.
