Mossley, Greater Manchester four-piece Brama-Loka are about to release their Bill Ryder-Jones produced single, Noble Savage on September 5th. It’s a follow up to last years debut EP, and has already been attracting quite a bit of interest, including Phil Taggart dropping it on his Radio One show.
It’s easy to see why. Noble Savage shudders into life at the beginning, full of splasy cymbals and winding guitar riffs, all draped over the top of this Shoegazey backing, brightened by the Stranglers ‘Peaches’ bass sound that has this faintly menacing sound about it. The menace continues with the wound up octave vocals in the verse, which unravels spectacularly into the chorus.
