Taken from their acclaimed self-titled debut album, comes a new single, Adult Diversion, from Canada indie kids Alvvays. It drops, via Transgressive on June 22nd, ahead of a UK tour, the last we will see of the band across here until they’ve gone away and recorded new material.
It drops straight into your lap with its easy indie pop stylings, think female fronted, more restrained (early) Strokes, full of echoey harmonies and moments where your just whisked away by the loveliness of the melodies – only to be propelled further away by this whirling guitar line. Its wistful guitars transport you to warm summer days from way back, all lollies and playgrounds and mucky knees.
What could be better, right? Check out the video, here
