London duo Alpines are back with a new album, Another River, out on October 28th via Metropolis Recordings. It’s a follow up to their 2014 debut, Oasis, and builds on their emotive R&B, garnering fans such as The xx, The Maccabees and Florence Welch.
Ahead of the release, the pair have released a taster of the new record in the shape of lead single, Heaven. It’s a delicious slice of smoky electronic R&B with shimmering chords and vocal cut ups that premeate the end of phrases. Catherine Pockson’s melodies shimmer and float over the top of the rippling percussion that rumble away in the background. It’s lovely stuff.
