News: Natives Announced As Only Support For Busted Dates

With Busted’s Night Driver tour just around the corner, what better time to get to know a little about the tour’s sole support, Natives?!

Described as ‘a clean slice of euphoric pop’ by The Independent, The New Forest tribal-pop quartet will play 24 dates in support of Busted, which span right from the first date on January 28th, all the way through to the final one on March 1st at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre.

2017 will see the release of Natives’ second full length album- the 20 track narrative-based record will explore the story of a fictional character who takes a journey into an unknown world. It’s over-flowing with synth-y, upbeat pop melodies, accompanied by an abundance of world music influences. Their highly acclaimed singles Chasing Lions, Passion (which you can listen to here) and Stop The Rain demonstrate this, with the latter receiving 30,000 views on YouTube in 24 hours, and over 100,000 in a week! The new album will be released with a book that further explores this narrative. Preceding this offering was Natives’ 2014 full length debut album Indoor War, which following their habit of narrative, was based on the story of Alvima, who suffered a huge loss and was struggling to deal with the grief. The band detailed that the phrase ‘Indoor War’ seemed to sum up the conflict in Alvima’s head after he decided to start making his way through life making decisions based on logic and science, rather than feelings and emotion.

“We’re really excited for this tour, it’s a chance for us to show people from all over the UK what Natives is all about” says guitarist/synth player Jack Fairbrother regarding the Busted tour; “we’re extremely grateful to the guys in Busted for giving us the opportunity to do that for so many.

Natives also recently wrapped up tours with the likes of Farro and MOTHXR- so these dates with Busted are kicking off what looks set to be a bright 2017 for the band!
