Iconic Aussie guitarist, Mark ‘Diesel’ Lizotte, played a mini-tour through Tasmania this past weekend, with his final show being at the beautiful Franklin Palais in Franklin, south of Hobart in the Huon Valley.
This performance was a continuation of his ‘Greatest Hits Alone With The Blues Tour’, and was conducted to showcase his 2021 blues album, Alone With Blues, an album conceived after being challenged by his son to write and play some blues pieces to while away the lonely hours spent during the covid-19 lockdowns.
The evening was broken into two parts. The first half saw Diesel play blues songs from Alone With Blues, and showed his versatility as a multi-instrumentalist with him initially playing the double bass, then moving to the array of different guitars he had brought along for the show.
The second half of the show, following a short interval, showcased a lot of his more familiar back catalogue and greatest hits, and was well-received by the enthralled audience.
