Live Review + Gallery: Testament – Roseland, Theater – Portland, Oregon 2024.09.17

The legendary Bay Area thrash metal band Testament is currently co-headlining with Kreator on the Klash of the Titans tour, delivering an unforgettable night of heavy metal at Portland’s Roseland Theater this past Tuesday. With over 35 years of crushing performances under their belt, Testament continues to dominate the stage and show no signs of slowing down.

The stage was brilliantly lit, with demonic-themed tapestries draped across the length of the stage. Pulsing lights synced with the thunderous drumbeats, while beams of light cut through the smoke that engulfed the stage, creating an atmospheric and intense backdrop.

Lead vocalist, Chuck Billy powerful vocals rung out through the theater all night, throwing out metal horns to the crowd as the audience yelled back in joy to show their appreciation. Testament originals guitarists Eric Peterson and Alex Skolnick played complimenting riffs off each other as they blasted through a setlist that consisted of songs from the bands first two albums. Prior to starting into “Day of Reckoning” from Testaments sophomore album “The New Order’, Billy tells the crowd how they have been enjoying the opportunity to play songs on this tour they normally don’t get to play.

As the Klash of the Titans tour rolls on, Testament continues to give metalheads across the country a night to remember. The band will be busy touring through out the remainder of the year, wrapping up the North American leg in October, before heading over to Europe in late November. For a full list of upcoming tour dates, check out their official website or follow the band on social media.
