I had the absolute pleasure to get to see and listen to the legends of Australian music that Liz Stringer and William Crighton are turning out to be. Not only were they both on the same bill, but they played onstage together for the entirety of their gig. This Altar show was part of their current Australian tour, which takes in a lot of regional areas as well as hitting some of the larger cities.
This was a very intimate gig, with chairs and couches lining (what is usually) the dance floor, with both artists also seated for the large part on stools whilst performing. The whole night had a very relaxed and chilled vibe about it, with much conversation between songs (most of which were alternately played between Stringer and Crighton). Their powerful songs were warmly received, and was testament to the prowess of both as singers, song-writers and story-tellers.
Both artists ran through their back catalogues, and even included their recent version of the Midnight Oil track, Golden Age (both have been recently on tour or playing as support for The Oils).
The tour continues throughout mainland Australia….
