Leesa Gentz and Julz Parker are the dynamic duo who form one half of Hussy Hicks (their rhythm section did not play at this show). These fiercely independent artists have forged a 16 year career based on the love, passion and pure joy that they bring to virtually every gig they play. They have a synergy that goes deeper than just your average band. There is a powerful connection that exists between them, and nowhere is it more evident in the perfect coupling they have with their vocal harmonies.
Superb musicianship underpins their entire performance, with Julz’ prowess as a guitar player of extraordinary talent being completely evident. Leesa’s percussion ‘box of tricks’ adds plenty of highlights, and their song-writing is finely honed.
A small but enthusiastic Hobart crowd were treated to a highly entertaining time, with the night commencing with Chris E Thomas, a legendary singer who is relatively unknown in the wider public, but who has provided backing vocals on stage behind the likes of Vanessa Amorosi, Brian Cadd, Tina Arena,
Beccy Cole, Billy Thorpe, Richard Clapton, Troy Cassar-Daley, Gene Simmons, Wendy Matthews, Rick Astley, Jeff Duff and Adam Brand.
