Live Review: Deaf Havana – The Key Club, Leeds 17/07/22

To celebrate the release of their new album ‘The Present Is A Foreign Land’ (see our album review here), tonight sees Deaf Havana perform a stripped back acoustic set as one of a number of planned intimate album launch shows.

It’s a very brief show (only 30 minutes) with 6 out of the 7 songs all being from the new album, the only previously released song being ‘Happiness’ from their 2017 album ‘All These Countless Nights’.

Entering stage, with Matty having a brief slip coming up the steps, both Matty and James give a solid run through of a selection of hits from the new album. There are a few requests from the crowd, one for ‘Help’ which unfortunately couldn’t be done due to it being an acoustic set and another for James to take his top off! The songs were well received and a good prelude to the upcoming headline tour where they will kick things off at Cardiff’s Tramshed on 8th November, making their way around venues in Nottingham, Manchester and at London’s Roundhouse on 12th November, before wrapping things up in Glasgow at SWG3 on 14th November. Tickets available here.
