Its not only a concert but also a full race evening included and the show starts once the last race has concluded.
Opening this years proceedings where The Lightning Seeds taking us back to the very early 90s with their blend of Britpop.

So it was a lovely warm summers evening at Leopardstown and just before 8.35 people starting filling up the stage area after coming from the stands and paddock. There’s a nice size crowd of all ages formed as the band take the stage. Opening their set with Marvellous / Ready of Not / All I Want, after which Ian was heard to say “This is nice isn’t it?” and to the crowds delight starts into Lucky You which got most of the crowd dancing.
You Showed Me / Feeling Lazy / Perfect follow after which Ian explained that Perfect was a song about Liverpool, just over the water there.
Change came next with Ian saying after “is everyone ok? and jokingly saying its like a school disco out there with lots of space at the front, yous can come forward if yous like”
It was the turn of songs What If / Sense / Whole Wide World before everyone’s favourite started up and got those that weren’t already dancing dancing, yes it was The Life of Riley.
Two more songs took us to the end of an hour long set and they were Sugar Coated Iceberg / Pure.
Ian finished of by saying “Its been lovely playing for yous all tonight and hope yous are all very rich after the races, good night Dublin, love love love.
As I walked back down the avenue out of the race-course I thought that was nice and chilled out, band were great, crowd were great and a lovely warm summers breeze blow the whole time.
Bring on the next one I can get too.
