Legendary Australian rock icons Rose Tattoo performed a blistering set supported by the energetic Choirboys back in February and I was lucky to be there to capture it all. Frontman Angry Anderson proved you’re never too old to rock n roll showing no signs of slowing down. Featuring new slide player Mick Arnold replacing Dai Pritchard and Ronnie Simmons (USA) replacing Bob Spencer. Long term members Mark Evans and Paul DeMarco completed the band. The new lineup were tight; only avid fans would know they haven’t been together as a unit for years.
Mark Gable was spectacular, entertaining the enthusiastic crowd on his home turf of the Central Coast. Hilarious, full of the energy and charisma he is renowned for, Mark and the band pulled out all of their hits including of course, Run to Paradise and Boys will be Boys. Good old fashioned rockstars and a very fitting warm up for the Tatts indeed.
