Under the dim, intimate glow of Low 302’s lights, Olympia draws you into her striking and unusual world. Tonight, she’s performing the last one of three extremely limited solo shows to celebrate her ‘Love For One’ EP.
The EP, a testament to resilience and raw emotion, was crafted during a harsh London winter, a season saturated with the weight of COVID and the profound sorrow following the loss of Olympia’s beloved father. Recorded with her long-time collaborator Burke Reid (known for his work with Courtney Barnett and Julia Jacklin), each track is imbued with the depth and darkness of that time, yet also flickers with moments of delicate beauty and strength.
Outside, Sydney is copping a drenching, rain lashing the streets, but inside the cozy confines of Low 302, Olympia’s music casts a spell. The audience, wrapped in the warmth of her sound, is transported far from the storm, held gently in the embrace of her haunting melodies and intimate lyrics.
