NLE Choppa, born Bryson Lashun Potts, is a young American rapper and songwriter who has rapidly gained prominence in the hip-hop scene. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, he first burst onto the music scene in 2018 with his breakout hit ‘Shotta Flow,’ which went viral for its energetic and aggressive flow, earning a platinum certification from the RIAA.
His music often reflects his personal experiences and struggles, resonating with a young audience and positioning him as one of the leading voices among the new generation of rappers.
With over 5.5 billion total streams, 14 RIAA-certified plaques, and a massive combined following of 36.5 million on social platforms, he’s already achieved remarkable success at just 21 years old.
In addition to his music career, Choppa has also gained attention for his ventures into holistic health and wellness, showcasing a different side of his personality and interests outside of music.
Tonight he plays the Enmore Theatre in Sydney. The crowd is in a frenzy and two people are pulled from the mosh pit before NLE Choppa has even put in an appearance.
The audience, a sea of eager faces, is hushed into disappointment as an announcement is made: NLE Choppa won’t be able to perform tonight!
Murmurs of discontent ripple through the audience, a shared sentiment of letdown hanging palpably in the air. But then, in an electrifying twist that feels almost cinematic, NLE Choppa bounds onto the stage with a contagious energy that instantly transforms the atmosphere. The crowd erupts in a cacophony of joy and relief, their earlier disappointment dissolving into an ecstatic frenzy.
Two songs into the set, NLE Choppa halts the music. Someone in the crowd has lost consciousness and is pulled from the mosh. Tense seconds pass as the fan lies unresponsive on the ground in front of the stage. NLE Choppa, his face etched with genuine concern, peers intently down at the prostrate fan, his expression a vivid mix of worry and empathy. Then suddenly the fan stirs, consciousness regained, and a collective sigh of relief washes over the venue. Choppa, the maestro of this wild symphony, nods in respect and care. And just like that, the show revs back to life. With his rapid-fire delivery that borders on the anarchic, NLE Choppa has the crowd, a swirling mass of bodies in a euphoric daze, wondering what just hit them.
