In a world where more and more seems to be coming neatly packaged and conforming to an accepted norm, it is nice to find that there are still people out there prepared to steer away from the mainstream flow.
Nottingham trio Kagoule have been around a few years now. Early demo’s ‘Monarchy’ & ‘Made of Concrete’, written when they were 15, are three years old now. Latest offering ‘Adjust the Way’ is a stripped down straight forward post-punk offering that will remind you of Fugazi with a hint of Sonic Youth. Beautifully out of focus, using film that’s obviously seen better days, the video that accompanies the single adds to the raw edginess of the sound. Love it.
‘Adjust the Way’ is available as a free download from Hate Hate Hate records and you can catch the band live throughout December.
