As part of the Kilkenny Arts Festival, Rollercoaster Records a (yep you guessed it ) a record shop in Kilkenny hosts a series of shows under the banner of the Rollercoaster Sessions and one of these show was Katie Kim & Elaine Howley at Set Theatre.
Katie Kim is that rare thing: a genuine auteur, celebrated for conjuring dark, cinematic landscapes. Kim brings a full band to the Set to perform her latest album, Hour of the Ox. This gig is accompanied by an experimental new documentary about the making of Kim’s album.
Elaine Howley is a singular voice in the Irish underground. Her acclaimed album The Distance Between Heart and Mouth recreates the intimacy of a radio show filled with Howley’s favourite sounds, pallets and textures, effortlessly joining the dots between pop and experimentation.
