We ran into Trent Halliday so to speak in the Summer of last year, here, with his rather lovely track ‘Get Close’, a mixture of folk, English charm and just a touch of psychedelia. He went onto release an album ‘Declare’ full of such treats later in the year.
Recently, he’s returned with a new single, The Quiet After, which again sees his warm baritone vocal poured over acoustic guitars and folk musings, along with a variety of other string interjections and rather lovely harmonies. Check it out, here
In the midst of that Summer/Autumn of last year, with lockdown enveloping everyone, Trent recorded a version of Get Close for us here at Backseat Mafia. Autumn turned into Winter, and the tapes, unedited, were lost somewhere in Backseat Mafia towers (well, I couldn’t find them anywhere on my computer/laptop etc). News of The Quiet After reached us, and another search of hard drives and emails turned up the videos, which after editing finally reveal their true beauty to the world.
So, with apologies to Trent, here they are. Get on board.
