Following on from his recent EP ‘Sarcasm’, where he really introduced himself, Yorkshire born singer-songwriter The Last Morrell has recorded a version of the stand out single from the EP, The Party, live for us here at Backseat Mafia, and we’re delighted to exclusively release it today.
Having already performed with the likes of Tom Odell and Ezra Collective, The Last Morrell has also caught the attention of Jessie Ware who enthused about his music, saying “I love it, absolutely love it!”. It’s easy to see why watching and listening to The Party. Sitting somewhere between Stevie Wonder and Ben Folds, Morrell brings the funk flecked with jazz, but also there’s this sense of whimsy and ambition and the unexpected as the song twists and turns, pulling you along with it.
Recorded (at least by the look of it) in his bedroom, The Party is something thats going to put a smile onto your face, whether you like it or not. Check it out, here
