EP Review: Millsart – Powerland

The Breakdown

...Experience once more, the wonders...
8.0

Part 6 in the Axis Expressionist series

The relationship between our star, the source that gives us life and the land we occupy during this transcendental process is one of sensitivity and compassion. Topography and rock settlements are positioned as conductive posts of energy. An energy line wrapping around a planet that straddles between the past, the present and the future. And on this land, exists an engineered string of energy called the 37th Parallel. Time Travel, multi-dimensional activity, healing, spiritual transition and rejuvenations in the supernatural respect and other powers we’ve yet to discover and realize :Axis Records

Verdict: A dive into the depths of another complex rhythmic sea of swirling melodies and discombobulating waves of sound. As always, the beats hold the ride steady as Jeff Mills works his keyboard magic. The ‘Powerland’ EP takes us on an improvisational style journey, where the layers move organically, slowly morphing from one to another seamlessly, keeping a constant sense of forward motion. It’s been said many times (mainly by me) that the output from the Axis label is unrelenting, and for that we can only be grateful. Another one, in the long line of quality releases. Experience once more, the wonders that only Mr Mills can create.
