Roots reggae star Chronixx has shared a new single, “Same Prayer.” The song is the second single release from his forthcoming album, Dela Splash, slated to drop later this year. The track was produced by Zion I Kings and is available now via Soul Circle Music.
“Same Prayer” is a meditative mantra, which begins with Nyabinghi drumming and features guest vocals from another new roots star, Kabaka Pyramid. With a reflective nod to the times, Chronixx sings: “There’s so much good in the world and still evil a lurk/In the darkness a night, Jah protect I and I from the ones who nuh care about the fact that we share the same air and the blood that we bleed is alike.”
According to the press release accompanying the song’s release, Chronixx notes that “’Same Prayer’ is, in part, a prayer for the younger generation to reflect on internally. It’s also a reminder that there is a greater power directing things in the physical space. Instead of looking for solutions in our material lives, we can both reach out to this higher power and look deep within ourselves.”
In March, Chronixx released the single “Dela Move,” also from his forthcoming album.
