Although they formed less than a year ago, Liverpool Psychedelic five-piece Psycho Comedy are already beginning to make waves, having recently played sets at Liverpool Sound City and festEVOL. Last Friday they released their rebut single ‘One’, produced by Gil Norton, who in the past has worked with the likes of The Pixies and Foo Fighters.
One sites somewhere between pipers era Floyd, but it’s built on an almost Stones like vocal hook. Thrown in there though is plenty of noise, and a good amount of the hypnotic as it rocks seductively between two chords, and builds to an inevitable wig out. It’s a gloriously simple but seductive slab of noise. Welcome to the party, Psycho Comedy.
