There seems to have been a proliferation in the last couple of years, of drum and guitar two pieces. 2022 festival highlights for me were provided by Yur Mum, alongside Mannequin Death Squad, The Meffs and Vulpynes. Add to those the likes of The Sewer Cats, Slap Rash and Minatore (also appearing at Rebellion) and the future is rosy for stripped down duos. The White Stripes and Royal Blood (who?) have shown just how far you can go with this line-up.
Formed by two Brazilians, London-based rock duo Yur Mum brings a vibrant fusion of punk rock with Brazilian musicality. Anelise’s powerful vocals are backed by an immense bass sound and heavy but groovy beats, which make Yur Mum, a unique duo.
Returning to Rebellion after their exhilarating appearance in 2022, the duo are certainly no strangers to hard work. Their appearance in Blackpool will be just one of the many their festival appearances this summer, with Crapfest in Liverpool, Wonkfest in London and the Brum Punx Picnic.
So make sure you have room in your schedule after your Sunday lunch on 6th Aug at 14:35, when they’ll be tearing the Pavilion Stage a new one!
